Thanksgiving is just a few days away. This can be a wonderful time a year, a time spent with the ones we love the most. It can also be an overwhelming time for parents. It is also a time of year that can be filled with "I want this!" and "I need that". It is natural for kids to get wrapped up in the hustle and the bustle.
As parents it is our job not to get frustrated with our children when they express excitement over the material experiences of the holidays but instead to use this as an opportunity to teach them gratitude. It is a great time to remind and discuss with them of all they have to be thankful for all throughout the year.
It is the perfect time to get your children involved in performing random acts of kindness. This can be as simple as baking a batch of cookies for your local police station or getting involved with local agencies that help collect toys and goods for local families in need.
