Are you ready for fall? The little bug that you see above is already counting down the days to Halloween. I pulled out this photo from last Fall and it's crazy how much changes in a year. What hasn't changed is his spirit and excitement, which is just as infectious. Sundays are one of those times... I believe that whoever coined the phrase "easy like Sunday morning" didn't have a five- year-old who thought that mornings were for loud voices and extreme amounts of jumping on the bed. He is always looking to ensure that I am fully awake prior to 7 am. If they did, we clearly had slightly differing opinions of what a quiet Sunday morning looks like. Nowadays, my Sunday mornings look much different than they did 10 years ago. There is less sleeping in and more pancake making, less heading out to a leisurely brunch and more block building, less getting in a long run on my own time and more trying to squeeze in both some work and some form of a workout which typically includes my pint sized workout buddy. Random side note: I am NOT a morning person. In fact prior to having a child, I didn't trust anyone who smiled prior to 9 am. My punishment (or my reward) was a child who is ready to go before his eyes even open. So, I have become a bit more adjusted to morning people. Though my Sundays may look a bit different, they are still my favorite day of the week. There is just this sense of ease and natural-ness that I find applies to this day. It is a time for winding down from the previous week and preparing yourself for a new one. It is another chance to set yourself up for a new week of getting up for that early alarm, getting your workout in, preparing a healthier food menu, committing to being on time, and a great chance to set a few new goals for yourself and your family. We hope you are enjoying your Sunday! Next week I will be sending out our weekly newsletters from Kauai, HI. -JESSICA PS. Don't forget to check out my Editor picks this week!
