2 days left until Christmas is finally here.

We just want to send out a little PSA to all parents: Don't stress!  There is only so much shopping you can do, so many cookies you can bake, so many perfect ribbons you can tie... and the list goes on.  The true magic of the season comes from spending time with the ones you love.  So while the gifts are great, the only way to impart the true value of the holiday season on your children is to teach it to them yourself.

As a family, make sure you are taking the time in these last few days leading up to Christmas to discuss more than just what your children put on their list to Santa.  Talk about traditions, what they mean to your family, where they comes from and impart the wisdom of traditions from around the world.

As parents, we can only be better by knowing and doing better and it's never to late to remind our children to be present and thankful for all that they have.  You're doing a great job Mamas (and Dads too) and we hope you have an amazing Christmas.

WHY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS GO HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

"Unlike in decades past, many families no longer live near their extended families. Many of us live thousands of miles apart because of careers or lifestyle choices making it difficult to decide what to do when it comes to the holiday season: should you stay home with your little family or pack up and head back to your home state? You want to spend the time with the people you love, but is the stress of it all worth the effort?"
----------------------------------------
FACT: I live in Ohio and my family is spread out in Connecticut, New York, and Florida.  Most of our holidays are spent split between Connecticut and New York.  This is the first year we aren't packing the car and headed home to run from place to place. We opted to head east for a few days before the holidays and get in some NYC Christmas time (without it the holidays just aren't the same to us) and then head home to ring in Christmas in our own home.  While I am excited for a calm and quiet few days spent in my pajamas, I never expected to feel a little sad. Every year I make myself crazy on these trips hauling the presents around, trying to appease everybody.  There is something to be said for said for visiting your family, always cherish anytime you get to spend with them.
